Brazilian Waxing for Newbies

Brazilian Waxes. Not for the faint of heart, but the results are so worth it. I strongly recommend getting a couple bikini waxes or a deep bikini waxes prior, to work up to a brazilian wax. I’ll never forget I had a client who’d never even gotten her brows waxed come in insisting on a brazilian because it was her boyfriends birthday… I guess a hairless coochie was part of her gift (lol) I recommended a bikini wax but she didn’t listen. As I removed the first strip off from her thigh, she grabbed my arm and told me she changed her mind and just wanted a bikini because she didn’t think would be able to endure the pain. If brazilian waxing is a form of grooming that you would like to partake in, I have a few tips to share.

Research spas, or waxing centers in your area. Better yet ask a friend or someone you trust where they get their waxing services done.

Preparation

1.)Firsts things first. Shower or freshen up before coming to your appointment. Thats all I’m going to say about that.

2.)Please don’t shave before your appointment. If you did shave, please let your pubic hair grow out for a minimum of 1 month. The hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long (the length of a grain of rice) If the hair is too short, it will be too short for the wax to adhere.

3.) If you are a person who has a menstrual cycle. Please time your wax so it is a week after your cycle. If you decide to wax close to the beginning of your cycle, it will hurt more because you will be more sensitive.

4.) While I reccomend exfoliation of the vaginal area on a regular basis to reduce ingrown hairs, (2-3 times a week) ensure that you are doing it closer to the time of your appointment. It will remove any dead skin which will give you a smoother wax. My favorite exfoliating tool for that are exfoliating gloves that you can get at any drug store.

During

1.) I know its hard to relax, but you must breathe! Holding your breath tenses up your body this making the experiencing more uncomfortable.

2.) Talking will help distract you from the pain. It’s a tactic I use with my clients and it works like a charm. The wax will be over before you know it.

After Care

1.) Directly after waxing, no gym or sauna or other activities that cause excessive sweating. The skin is sensitized and sweating can cause irritation.

2.) Avoid tight fitting clothing and if you can, avoid wearing underwear directly after your wax. Friction on freshly waxes skin can irritated the skin.

3.) One of my favorite products for soothing skin is Fur oil its lightweight so it won’t clog the pores, softens hair(if you decided to leave a strip) and helps to keep pores clear.http://www.furyou.com

4.)If you are prone to ingrown hair and or have hyperpigmentation, I highly reccomend chromabright by http://pfbvanish.com to help decrease ingrown hair bumps and even skin tone.

I hope this was helpful. If you have any questions shoot me a message or DM me via ig @chronically_fly

  1. SMH Im almost shame to say I haven’t tried this yet, but due to all my mounting hair removal horror stories 🤦🏾‍♀️ I must say I’m almost sold on giving it a try. Not much can top what I’ve already been thru 😅🤣😂
