This week I got a much needed massage. Due to COVID I hadn’t had one in way over a year and it was way over due. I forgot how amazing they were. Luckily, I work at an amazing spa Kari Skin and I was able to have my massage by my friend/ colleague Colleen. It was out of this world. I felt like I was back on vacation. I was so relaxed. The aches and pains I’d recently been feeling were gone. As an esthetician, I’m on my feet all day, bending and stretching to do facials and to wax. This profession is hard on the body, and I realized this is a form of self care I need on a daily basis.
Besides soothing muscle pain and relaxation, there are so many other great benefits of massage.
- It improves sleep quality
- Enhances blood flow and circulation
- Relieves sports injuries
- Reduces anxiety and depression
- Reduced stress hormones
- Heightened mental alertness
- Lowers blood pressure
What are some reasons you don’t get massages? Do you see it as just a luxury service? When you do get massages, where do you go to get them? A Spa, the chiropractor’s office? The mall? Let me know?
